Help improve local radio coverage

WNYIA is building a network of software-defined radio (SDR) receiving locations. These receivers listen to publicly available emergency-service radio communications and use an internet connection to bring the audio into our network. Additional locations help us receive communications from areas where reception may otherwise be limited.

WNYIA provides the equipment at no cost to your company. We are looking for a secure place to locate it, with power and access to your internet connection. A wired Ethernet connection is preferred for reliability. If wired internet is not available, let us know so we can discuss whether another connection would work.

We will review reception, equipment placement, and your site's permissions with you before proceeding. We can also discuss access to our feeds as part of the partnership. Your company does not need to purchase radio equipment or be familiar with SDR technology to start the conversation.
